Frequent Urination (Women) - Overview

Overview | Causes | Diagnosis | Treatment | FAQ

The need to urinate more often than normal may or may not go together with an increase in the amount of urine. Usual causes of frequent urination may include urinary tract infection, pregnancy, STD’s such as chlamydia or herpes, variation in the vagina because of menopause or multiple pregnancies.

The reason for frequent urination can be attributed to something as simple as increased stress or consumption of caffeine or it can be caused by a more serious condition such as an overactive thyroid or stroke.

This condition by itself is not cause for alarm, however if you do not see a simple explanation for the symptom you should talk with your doctor.
