Frequent Urination (Women) - Overview
Urinary frequency is defined as having to urinate more than 8 times in a 24 hour period. Occasionally the frequent urination is associated with urgency to urinate and is called “overactive bladder”. Frequency of urination can occur at night is called nocturia.
There are many potential causes of frequent urination. The causes range from minor and very easily treated conditions and rarely due to more serious diseases. Not all causes of urinary frequency are caused by bladder dysfunction.
