Prostate Cancer Called Silent Killer

dr bruner urologist grapevine, southlake, trophy club - prostate cancer treatment and robotic prostatectomy - prostate cancer silent killer

Prostate cancer is the second leading cause of death among men in the United States. It’s also the most preventable. Yet, for all the warning signs, many men don’t want to be bothered with a routine exam that could save their life, says a local urologist.

“It used to be that doctors were recommending that men get a prostate exam at age 50,” said Dr. Bryan Bruner, a urologist at Baylor Medical Center in Grapevine. “But, in recent years, we started seeing prostate cancer in patients who are in their 40s so now we’re recommending patients get checked much earlier than in the past.”

If detected early, it could literally save your life, Bruner said.

Castle Connolly Medical Identifies Top Doctors

The following Urology Clinics of North Texas providers have been identified as National Top Doctors.

Dr. Ewalt and Dr. Strand have appeared in Castle Connolly Medical's America’s Top Doctors® book.

The following Urology Clinics of North Texas providers have been identified among the top 10% of doctors in their specialty in their region:

About the Castle Connolly Top Doctors selection process

The Castle Connolly Top Doctors selection process begins with online surveys of physicians in both academic and private practice positions across the U.S., who are asked to nominate physicians they consider best in their respective areas of medicine. Once these professional peer nominations are processed, a unique, physician-led research team carefully reviews the credentials of every physician being considered for inclusion as a Castle Connolly Top Doctor. This review includes, among other factors, scrutiny of medical education, training, hospital appointments, administrative posts, professional achievements, and malpractice and disciplinary history. Doctors do not and cannot pay to be included in any Castle Connolly listing or guide. SOURCE Castle Connolly Medical Ltd.
